The first thing you should do is learn the House edge in the game you play. If you are losing much more than the House edge would indicate, you probably have one of two problems: Either you are not playing the game correctly or your bankroll is not big enough for the stakes you are playing and you cannot overcome the game’s variance.

Try to figure out which it is. If it is neither, you may need to collect more data.

Using Your Money Management Data

Once you have figured out how much money you need for gambling each month, make some adjustments. Is your playing bankroll large enough? Your playing bankroll should be separate from your regular finances.

If you need to dip into your other finances each month, you should play at lower stakes, play fewer sessions each month or play shorter sessions when you play. Experiment with these ideas until you find a situation in which your monthly bankroll meets your gambling needs. This will make your gambling experience a much more pleasant one.
